Inga övriga dokument behövs, men om man inte kan legitimera sig via t ex Bank ID, så kan man behöva skicka in en kopia av sitt ID-kort eller körkort. Det går även att tjäna pengar genom att bjuda in vänner och bekanta till Vivus. Om någon av dessa personer som man har bjudit in ansöker och blir beviljad ett lån, så får man 200 kr direkt insatt på sitt konto. Inte så tokigt!

Vivus kreditgräns på upp till 10,000 kr höjs i omgångar. Detta innebär att man som skötsam kund kan få låna upp till 8000 kr andra gången och därefter 8000-10000 kr efter tredje gången. Naturligtvis måste man ha skött de tidigare lånen och betalat dessa i rätt tid för att kunna låna mer. Av säkerhetsskäl krävs också att det har gått 7 dagar från det senaste lånetillfället innan man kan låna igen.

Sammanfattningsvis så kan vi rekommendera Vivus lånetjänster, inte minst för deras överkomliga avgifter. Vivus gör en ganska ingående kreditprövning, men tar inte någon kreditupplysning från UC. Istället görs en s k mikrokreditupplysning från CreditSafe, vilket inte belastar kundens kredithistorik. Bra! Folkia är ett av de första företagen på den svenska marknaden för SMS lån. Många männsikor uppfattar nog företaget som svenskt, men bolaget är faktiskt norskt i grunden, (Folkia AS), samt äger en norsk kredit- och finanslicens sedan 2007.

Folkia har haft en ledande position för snabblån i Sverige sedan många år tillbaka, och är ett mycket tryggt företag att låna pengar av. Företaget gör månatliga undersökningar bland sina kunder för att undersöka hur pass nöjda de är med Folkias tjänster, och det är roligt att konstatera att nöjdhetsgraden uppgår till hela 98-100% (februari 2013).

Som en av marknadsledarna för smslån i Sverige så har Folkia fått ta emot en kanske ovanligt stor del av kritiken som riktats mot sms-lån och snabbkrediter i massmedia. Det gäller dock att förstå själva bakgrunden och orsakerna till att denna typ av lån har uppkommit överhuvudtaget.

Vid tidpunkten för Folkias tillkomst fanns det en ganska stor grupp av människor som antingen inte fick, (eller ville), låna pengar hos de traditionella bankerna. Oftast berodde detta på att denna kundgrupp antingen tjänade för lite för att kunna bli beviljad ett större lån hos banken – eller för att de inte önskade låna pengar för en längre tid. Minimumbeloppen för att låna hos bankerna började från 10,000 kr och dessa lån löpte ofta om en återbetalningstid om 1-5 år, alternativt att lånebeloppet lades som en kredit – något som alltså inte passade alla.

Kritiken mot Folkia, och andra snabblåneföretag, går i huvudsak ut på att den effektiva räntan kan bli väldigt hög vid ett korttidslån. Och andra sidan så måste man komma ihåg att den totala kostnaderna för ett lån (eller en kredit) med en längre återbetalningstid ofta kan vara fullt jämförbar med ett sms lån, eller till och med högre – särskilt om man även tar i beräkning eventuella månatliga aviavgifter, ränteändringar, uppläggningsavgift mm.

Kritiken är således bara delvis korrekt, men även i viss utsträckning lite missvisande. De senaste årens utveckling med en snabbrörlig finansmarknad och större ekonomiska valmöjligheter i vardagen, har tydligt visat att det finns ett stort behov av denna typ av snabblån ute hos konsumenterna.

Huvudtanken med Folkias mikrolån är alltså att dessa skall kunna vara en snabb och flexibel lösning då man t ex råkar ut för oväntade utgifter, samtidigt som man har möjlighet att relativt snabbt betala tillbaka hela lånet. Kanske behöver man dryga ut kassan någon vecka innan lönen kommer, eller så behöver man snabbt låna pengar för något inköp. Oavsett vilket så erbjuder Folkia dessa mikrolån (eller blancolån) helt utan säkerhet, dvs du behöver inte ställa någon pant (t ex bostad) för att kunna bli beviljad ett lån.

Folkia erbjuder framförallt två låneprodukter, nämligen det Lilla Folklånet och det Stora Folklånet. Båda lånen kan antingen sökas via nätet, via sms, eller via telefon genom att ringa till Folkias kundtjänst. Den tidigare populära tjänsten Folkgirot, där man kunde registrera och ”pausa” räkningar genom ett lån hos Folkia, tycks i skrivande stund ha upphört (februari 2013). Det är möjligt att tjänsten fortfarande är tillgänglig för befintliga kunder, dock har vi på Kreditsidan.com inte provat på denna tjänst.

Det Lilla Folklånet är ett smslån på 1,000 kr – 10,000 kr som ska betalas tillbaka på en till tre månader. Det Lilla Folklånet är naturligtvis framförallt tänkt att täcka ett kortvarigt ekonomiskt lånebehov. Som ny kund går det att låna upp till 5,000 kr helt utan ränta och avgifter i 30 dagar (februari 2013). Men som ny kund går det även att låna 4,000 – 6,000 kr i sextio till nittio dagar i enlighet med den ordinarie prislistan. När man har betalat tillbaka sitt första lån i tid så räknas man som en återkommande kund, och kan då låna upp till maxbeloppet 10,000 kr i 60-90 dagar. Den totala lånekostnaden för det Lilla Folklånet varierar beroende på beloppets storlek och den valda återbetalningstiden, men alla priser finns redovisade på Folkias hemsida. Räntekostnaden är avdragsgill i deklarationen och lånet går att återbetala via autogiro.

För att kunna ansöka om det Lilla Folklånet krävs att man är minst 18 år gammal, har ett telefonnummer registrerat i sitt namn, är folkbokförd i Sverige sedan två år tillbaka i tiden, samt har en taxerad årsinkomst. Man får heller inte ha några betalningsanmärkningar eller skuldsaldo hos kronofogden. Folkia gör en kreditprövning och tar en s k mikroupplysning via Soliditet, (alltså ingen UC), vilket alltså innebär att en förfrågan inte syns hos Upplysningscentralen (UC).

Det Stora Folklånet kan snarast jämföras med ett traditionellt blancolån, dvs ett lån utan säkerhet. Hos Folkia kan man låna 10,000 kr – 25,000 kr med en löptid om upp till tre år. Man kan själv välja såväl belopp som återbetalningstid inom detta spann. Pengarna betalas ut inom fyra bankdagar vid en beviljad ansökan. För att kunna ansöka om det Stora Folklånet ställs det något större krav än för det lilla lånet. Bl a måste man ha en minsta årsinkomst om 120,000 kr samt vara minst 20 år gammal. I övrigt är kraven desamma som för det lilla lånet. Dock med det tillägget att en sedvanlig kreditprövning görs för det stora lånet och att en kreditupplysning inhämtas från UC. I detta avseende skiljer sig alltså det Lilla Folklånet och det Stora Folklånet åt.

Sammanfattningsvis så kan vi varmt rekommendera Folkias lån, oavsett om man väljer det lilla eller det stora lånet.
