Eating In Thailand

The first time I visited Thailand was back 1973. I was a young soldier in-the United States Of America Army and Bangkok was my first work station. I was there for 18 months and my first meal in America was a Huge Mac, fries and a Coke. Times have changed and the Thailand countryside is dotted by fast food places. From KFC to McDonalds to Pizza Hut is everywhere. They're not just in the big cities and tourist town, but occur in smaller towns like Phitsanulok and Khon Kaen. Granted, I am a junk food junkie back the states, but usually in Thailand, I have a tendency to eat the local food. Really it is Thai junk food. I prefer to eat from the local street vendors that can have a plate ready for you in less than 1 minute. And, it's a whole lot cheaper and nicer than the area Burger King. But, when I'm in Thailand for three or four days, in the course of time I give in and need some burgers, fried chicken, or pizza.
